Some aggrevation may already have been seen as they’ve locked/unlocked the “Server Down” thread about three times now and answer with a “Unlocked, sorry folks. Continue to post here about this.” when they bring it back up. I’m not sure how you accidently lock the thread and re-open it 3 accidently…

I’m putting my money on database problems because their login server is responding to the standard HTTP requests. This could possibly be a corrupt table or maybe an SQL injection attack was executed but we may never know as S2 would be smart not to say anything about this other than “It’s up and you can login.” Either way, I hope they have backups of my PSR as I just spent the last two nights getting that bitch back up over 1300 since they’ve fixed some of the algorithms for calculating it. Honestly, I’m not that bad.

In other HON news, their Facebook page posted very provocative concept art for the Vengeful Spirit. This is interesting as no one from S2 has mentioned this port yet and the cryptic message on their Facebook saying “This magical hero can stun and swap.” Enjoy the picture of the upcoming, yet un-nammed in HON, port of Vengeful Spirit. I think she looks like your sister… only more galaxy-ee.

I’m not sure if this post violates the NDA but who gives a shit at this point. If you don’t know what’s going on in this game by now then you haven’t been paying attention. Everyone and their mom has a beta account at this point and leaks are a dime a dozen.

Heroes of Newerth

The Heroes of Newerth Beta is no secret any more as people are breaking the NDA left. This is partially related to the fact that they’ve been opening up the beta more and more, I have now seen over six thousand people on at one time. Games went from 2-3 a weeknight to 85+. S2 Games have stated that they’re stress testing the server and are releasing more beta keys to the existing players and publicly to every dumb mother fucker on the face of this earth. They don’t even have replays in the beta yet and they gave away 700 to gamereplays.org.

Now that everyone can pretty much be in the beta if they want too we now have even bigger assholes that are selling beta keys? The auction has ended now and I don’t know if it’s because they’ve actually been sold or S2 had ebay shut it down.. but I can’t fathom anyone wanting to pay money to play an unfinished game. Heroes of Newerth still has a huge bug list, balancing issues, sound problems, usability issues, new heroes need to be added and game mechanics tweaked… and you want to pay 15 bucks to deal with that?
