The Heroes of Newerth Beta was plagued by a faulty login server which prompted close to 3000 people to start browsing the forums and complaining about the server being down. Since forums are places of general dumb fuckery you can imagine no ones doing anything constructive and could in fact hinder the process of getting the login server operation as PHPBB isn’t known for it’s efficiency and thusly could take out the forums server and further aggrevate S2 staff.

Some aggrevation may already have been seen as they’ve locked/unlocked the “Server Down” thread about three times now and answer with a “Unlocked, sorry folks. Continue to post here about this.” when they bring it back up. I’m not sure how you accidently lock the thread and re-open it 3 accidently…

I’m putting my money on database problems because their login server is responding to the standard HTTP requests. This could possibly be a corrupt table or maybe an SQL injection attack was executed but we may never know as S2 would be smart not to say anything about this other than “It’s up and you can login.” Either way, I hope they have backups of my PSR as I just spent the last two nights getting that bitch back up over 1300 since they’ve fixed some of the algorithms for calculating it. Honestly, I’m not that bad.

In other HON news, their Facebook page posted very provocative concept art for the Vengeful Spirit. This is interesting as no one from S2 has mentioned this port yet and the cryptic message on their Facebook saying “This magical hero can stun and swap.” Enjoy the picture of the upcoming, yet un-nammed in HON, port of Vengeful Spirit. I think she looks like your sister… only more galaxy-ee.
