08.03Muse Releases their new Single, The Uprising
The Uprising is a new track out and starting radio play today and tomorrow marking the first track to be officially released by Muse off their 5th studio album.
Muse had earlier offered a weird internet Easter Egg hunt for six parts of a new track off the this new album, The Resistance. This track was United States of Eurasia which I feel has way to much Queen influence. The Uprising definitely falls suit with Black Holes and Revelations formula which is an album that I wasn’t completely sold on. We’ll have to wait and see if the rest of this new album brings back any of the three piece rock and roll that I fell in love with. If they do, this new album may grow on my but if they just recycled the same formula for Black Holes and Revelations then I’ll probably be officially done with this band.
They’re good musicians and brought a very unique orchestrated style to their song writing but they were best at rocking out and mixing their classical influences seemlessly into their already bad ass rock songs. It just feels like they’ve been checked out of the album making process lately, their melodies are still good but the songs seem tired and I wish they’d bring back some of the energy from the first three albums. I’ve seen them live since Black Holes and Revelations came out and my sentiments are reflected in their live show too, by the numbers rock show with a “get your lighters out for this one” queue and everything. Boooooring!
If they keep this up I’m going to take their album
